Adventure Belt Loops and Pins
Cub Scouts do den activities that teach them important principles such as healthy eating and how to take care of the environment. They hone carpentry skills, learn about maps and knots, and practice safe knife and campfire behaviors.
Cub Scouts do den activities that teach them important principles such as healthy eating and how to take care of the environment. They hone carpentry skills, learn about maps and knots, and practice safe knife and campfire behaviors.
These activities are called adventures. As scouts complete them, they earn a belt loop or pin they wear with their uniform. We host three award ceremonies a year: at Fall Camp, our Blue & Gold Dinner, and Spring Camp.

Electives and other Award
Electives and other Award
Activity-based elective belt loops for all ranks: Scouts can now earn adventure belt loops for participating in the Pinewood Derby, for camping and fishing, cycling and swimming. The former World Convservation Award has now become the Champions of Nature award availble through all ranks.
Summertime Fun Award: By participating in at least one pack activity each month of the summer (or 3 total), scouts earn this award.
Cub Scouts and Knife Safety: A Cub Scout may use a pocket knife at a scouting event if they've earned the appropriate belt loop in their den. For Bears: the Whittling Belt Loop. For Webelos: Chef's Knife Belt Loop. For AoL: Knife Safety Belt Loop. Scouts have to recertify each year, even if they earned the belt loop the previous year.
