Hello Cub Scout Pack 38!

As we get ready for a new school year, whether that's on-line distance learning or in-class, we are also getting ready for a new year of Cub Scouting.

First Meeting September 12

Our first meeting of 2020-2021 will be Saturday, September 12, at 9:00am-11:00am outside Bethel Lutheran Church (4120 17th Ave S).

This year, due to COVID-19, we are making some major changes to our regular meetings. To conform with the NSA BSA's guidelines (available HERE), as well as the MN DOH, all meetings are going to be held outside!

Yes, this includes winter meetings, so dress accordingly (we will postpone/cancel if the weather gets too nasty, watch this space or our Facebook page Pack38isGreat for updated details.

In addition, all meetings will be Den Meeting style, to keep each Den group under 25 members (youth and parents). Masks required, and bathroom use will be limited (so go before you go).

Recruiting

Do you have friends or neighbors who might be interested in Cub Scouts? You can invite them to join us at our first meeting, or give them a copy of the attached flyer.

If you need printed flyers and you can't print them yourself, let me know and I can drop a few at your house.

And if you really want to help get around the neighborhood, I have stacks of flyers and a long list of addresses that we can reach out to (100+ flyers each, 2+ hour commitment).

Registration

You may be getting messages from Northern Star Council that it's time to register. The link to register is HERE. Registration fees have increased to $180, but there is a link in the application if you need to request financial assistance. Our goal is to get everyone registered by November 1st.

Awards and Recognition

All Cub Scouts from last year have earned their Rank Badge, and will be awarded it at our first meeting on September 12. In addition, Pack 38 will be getting new neckerchiefs and woggles for all Cub Scouts moving on to the next level.

If your scout earned additional Cub Scout awards, let your Den Leader know (or enter them into Scoutbook.com, e-mail me if you want more information) and we can award them also.

Popcorn and Christmas Wreaths

Our fundraising this year will be a bit limited, due to social distancing. More details to come, but the sale kicks off on Friday, September 18.
